Volunteers are vital to Ilan-Lael! They help us with art projects, events, tours and the general care and keeping of our 10-acre home and studio compound.

Father’s Day – Hubbell Open House & Studio Tour

Our annual Open House is a fun and exciting way to be active with our community. Join dozens of volunteers who spend a day at the Hubbell home and studios acting as docents for our largest public event of the year. You won’t regret spending time in the most unique art locale in San Diego amid the beauty and tranquility of the Laguna Mountains.

In addition to the day of Open House, we have volunteer clean up work days on the two Saturdays prior to Father’s Day. Your help is needed to give our many unique and art-filled buildings a thorough dusting, sweeping, and polishing!

Private Tours

Docents support our private tours which are scheduled in the spring and fall. Spend an hour or two sharing this one-of-a-kind space with our guests, sharing the Hubbell’s story and the beauty of art, architecture and nature.

Maintenance

Work with our maintenance and landscape teams as we keep the art in tip-top shape. Volunteers are needed to clean and repair artworks, mosaics, help in our organic gardens, and for general office work.

If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer for our next Open House tour, Private Tours or Maintenance, please read the necessary Information for Open House Volunteers here.  All volunteers are required to submit a Volunteer Waiver & Release Form.
